4 Inches and Counting

They said we would wake up with 6 inches of snow today. I wasn't up early, but there was maybe four inches. We might have six now. I'm not complaining. I really don't want to shovel that much snow. I am prepare for the 18" they were threatening though. Fuzzy and I are going into hibernation, she is already snoring away. Its one of her specialties. Looks like a good dream though.

I'm still washing walls. At the rate all this prep work is going, the painting is going to finish up in what will feel like record time. I wont know what to do when I can finish a room in one or two days.

So far next week is supposed to be sunny, in so many ways.

Moving Up

I caught this on the news today. Moving here has been a difficult time, but settling in and enjoying the surroundings has been easy. The link doesn't list the number one, but number 100 is considered the worst. So when you look at where we have been, and some of you still are, to where we are now, its no wonder that we are really liking it here.

On the news they listed things like obesity, housing, and economy. The rest of the world is catching up here, but we're still holding on.

Wallpaper Away!

The snow has melted, the sun has warmed the ground, and now we prepare for rain. It must be fall. Last week I finished Phase I Wallpaper Removal. YAE! It would have been more exciting, if the house hadn't needed cleaning just as soon as I finished. Today I started patching, then there will be sanding, and more patching, and more sanding, some cleaning in there (probably a couple of different times), and then I've got walls that need mudding, and more sanding, and more sanding, and more sanding (at least that is what is always feels like), then we might actually get to paint. I am hoping that by the time I am ready to paint that it will be a "we" thing. Though, I like the weekends off, so there might not be much "we" to it. It will just be nice to be a "we" again (and not be including the dog). It will be really nice to have things painted and not have an ice blue office and just have everything look nice and maintained.

One of these days I'm going to get back to having some fun. I did crochet myself a hat and scarf last week. Thought I should have something to keep me warm when Fuzzy drags me out on those cold winter walks.

Snow!

I kept getting distracted this week by all the little projects that are waiting to be done around here. I need to get myself on a more structured schedule, but it is just nice to see things happening.

We had our first real snow of the year this weekend. The main part of the storm hit Friday, just in time for
Hubby's flight in. It was a wild drive. This morning was better, but it ended in fog. I decided staying home sounded good, though now the sky is blue and things are quickly melting. Fuzzy on the other hand thought it sounded wonderful to just go lay in the snow. She found a little snow perch and laid there as content as could be. If I had not made her come in, she still be happily sitting there, either that or should we be roaming the neighborhood. She is an escape artist. Last I saw, we are supposed to reach a high of 50 this week. I'm looking forward to it.

Back to Normal

My parents have been here for the past week. Its been so nice to have something going on, people to play with, and oh ya, someone to talk to face to face. It has left most things neglected. So I've spent most of today cleaning and putting things back in their places. Its just no fun to go from a week of play right into a day of work. At least I will get the rest of the weekend off.

Just for the SLC folks, we've had some cold, but we missed the snow and the rain. Its just a pleasant fall week, ranging from 80s to 40s for highs. Oh, but we did get the winds. I don't currently need to rake the leaves, sweep some yes, but I do need to rake the trigs. I guess fall in this house has a slightly broader definition. That will wait for another day. Enough is enough.

The Halloween decorations did make it inside the house today. :-) They will keep me entertained for the next week, and then hubby will scream. Its always fun.
